Tales Of The Walking Dead Premiere Date, Images Revealed

AMC’s Tales of the Walking Dead, a six-episode anthology series, will premiere on August 14 with one episode on the broadcast network and the first two on AMC+ the same night. Variety was first to report. Additionally, The Wrap was first to publish first-look photos of the spin-off.

Tales of the Walking Dead will tell standalone stories “focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse.” In February, it was announced that some of these new characters will be played by actors Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), Anthony Edwards (ER, Inventing Anna), and Poppy Liu (Hacks). Samantha Morton’s villain Alpha–now known as “Dee”–will be among the established characters returning.

In photos published by The Wrap, Crews and Munn can be seen playing Joe and Evie–a pair making their way through the zombie apocalypse on a motorcycle with a sidecar. Edwards will be returning to his old ER profession as a doctor, playing Dr. Everett, and now sporting a rather short apocalypse beard. In stark contrast to all the other cast photos, Bell as Gina and Posey as Blair are wearing unusually clean–stylish, even–clothes.

In addition to Tales, the Daryl spin-off–formerly the Daryl and Carol spin-off–is one of many expected to branch off The Walking Dead once the latter wraps. Still on the way are a set of feature films for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and the most recently announced Isle of the Dead–which will feature Negan and Maggie, and debut sometime in 2023. Fear the Walking Dead has been going strong since 2015.

Over in the flagship series The Walking Dead, Season 11–the last for the show–is slated to wrap up later this year.
