‘She Said’ trailer recreates the ‘New York Times’ investigation into Harvey Weinstein

In 2017, the New York Times published a bombshell investigation into allegations that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed and paid off a dizzying number of accusers over the course of decades. The article was catalyst for reigniting the #MeToo movement, and Weinstein was arrested in 2018.

Now, the process of investigating and writing that story is the subject of the drama She Said, starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan as Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, the New York Times reporters who broke the story. The film’s first trailer sees them trying to figure out how to convince women to tell their stories, paired with chilling shots of hotels where encounters with Weinstein took place.

Directed by Maria Schrader (Unorthodox, I’m Your Man) and written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida), She Said will open in theaters Nov. 18.
