Save $149.01: The best entry-level MacBook is 15% off and at a more friendly price. As of Sept. 22, the M1 MacBook Air (that’s the late 2020 model with 256GB of storage)(opens in a new tab) is only $849.99, down from $950, at Amazon thanks to an on-page coupon automatically applied at checkout.

We all know that Apple upgrades their tech faster than any real person can actually keep up with. Yes, we just got a brand new MacBook Air with the fancy M2 chip this past summer. But the late 2020 M1 MacBook Air is still a solid pick — and it’s on sale.

As of Sept. 22, you can grab the 256GB M1 MacBook Air(opens in a new tab) for just $850 at Amazon, thanks to an on-page coupon. The last time we saw the Air hit this price was in January, and it’s been months since it’s seen sub-$950 prices.

Though it’s a late 2020 model, this Air is still readily available on Apple’s website, proving that it’s by no means outdated. The M1 chip can power everyday tasks, photo and video editing, and coding with ease. Its 18 hour battery life (the same as its successor, btw) and slim design make it an ultra-portable pick popular among students and those who need to carry their work with them. Plus, it’s fanless, so it won’t sound like it’s about to blast off if you have one too many tabs open. There’s a reason it earned the honor of being Mashable Choice pick.

Sure, its 720p webcam could be more crisp, and it will be a bit slower than the M2 Air, but at this price, it’s also $350 cheaper than the M2 Air. For those who don’t need to pay for all that power, the M1 Air will be more than fine — and at the time of writing, it’s available at the discounted price in both silver and gold.
