Both Echo Show devices(opens in a new tab) are a quick way to upgrade voice calls with your family. The Echo Show 8 (2nd gen, 2021 release)(opens in a new tab) features an 8-inch HD touchscreen and a 13MP camera that features auto-framing so you’re always centered in video calls. Just ask Alexa to call up your contacts, or use the Echo Show 8 to look at your reminders, see real-time traffic updates, or watch and listen to content on Prime Video, Spotify, and other platforms. And it works as a great central hub to control any connected smart home devices such as security cameras or lights.

The included Echo Show 5 (2nd gen) Kids(opens in a new tab) features many of the same features, but in a smaller package and with more parental controls. It has a 5.5-inch touchscreen and a 2MP camera with a built-in shutter to ensure privacy. Kids can ask Alexa to play videos, music, and audiobooks, or answer your standard homework questions. But parents still get the option to set timers for watching videos, view activity on the parental dashboard, and block shopping to guarantee no surprise purchases.
