TL;DR

  • Samsung is expanding its self-repair program.
  • The program now offers genuine parts for the Galaxy S22 family and PCs.
  • Users will be able to start purchasing repair kits starting today.

Have you already cracked the screen on your Galaxy S22 device? Maybe you have a Galaxy Book that needs a new touchpad? Well, then you may be happy to hear that Samsung has expanded its self-repair program to include the Galaxy S22 family and PCs.

Today, Samsung announced that it is adding five Galaxy devices to its self-repair program. These devices include the Galaxy Book Pro (15), Galaxy Book Pro 360 (15), Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

For those looking to take advantage of the program, they’ll be able to purchase self-repair kits that Samsung says include genuine repair parts for each of these products.

Similar to other models in the program, like the Galaxy S20 and S21, the kits will allow owners of the Galaxy S22 to “replace display assemblies, back glass, and charging ports.”

If you’re using the program to fix your Galaxy Book, Samsung states that owners will have access to “seven authentic components to take repair into their own hands.” These components will allow you to fix things such as your:

  • Case front
  • Case rear
  • Display
  • Battery
  • Touchpad
  • Power key with fingerprint reader
  • Rubber foot

If you’re unfamiliar with Samsung’s self-repair program, it is done in collaboration with iFixit. So if you’re unsure about trying to repair the device by yourself, there are online guides that can show you how to perform a repair by yourself.
