Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Return – Save $20 On Pair Of Exclusive Games

February 2, 2023

Nintendo is once again selling “game vouchers” on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The vouchers allow you to get two games for $100, offering a savings of up to $20. Most of the eligible games are exclusive to Switch and retail for $60, so if there’s a pair of titles you want, this could be a good deal for you.

Notably, two upcoming Switch exclusives are currently included in the promotion: Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe and Bayontta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Dream Land Deluxe is a remastered port of the Wii side-scroller that releases on February 24. Meanwhile, Bayonetta Origins is a prequel that trades over-the-top combat for atmospheric adventuring with more of a puzzle-solving emphasis. The prequel launches on March 17. If you purchase a voucher for $100 and choose these two games, you’ll save $20 overall.

If you’re not sure if you want either of those games, there’s plenty more to choose from. Another standout is Fire Emblem Engage, which just launched in January and has yet to go on sale. A bunch of hits from last year are up for grabs as well, including Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Before you decide which games to use your game voucher on–or even purchase it to begin with–you should check game listings at major retailers. If you’re not careful, you could actually wind up spending more money on the pair of games than you would elsewhere. The list includes a bunch of older titles that you can snag for less than retail price. For instance, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe can often be found for around $40 each, so you’d save about $20 versus the voucher offer. Nintendo’s first-party titles tend to remain at retail price on the eShop, even several years after launch.

There are a few things about Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers that you should know. You don’t have to use them immediately, but they do expire one year after the purchase date. Nintendo says they will add more titles to the list over time, so it’s possible other upcoming exclusives will be included in the coming months. You must be a Nintendo Switch Online member to purchase vouchers, and each Nintendo account is limited to eight active vouchers.
