TL;DR
- Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 13 Lite at MWC 2023.
- A leaked unboxing video of the phone shows it’s a rebranded Xiaomi Civi 2.
- The phone has a pill-shaped selfie camera housing that resembles the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island.
Xiaomi launched the Civi 2 in China last October. A leaked hands-on video can now confirm that the phone is being rebranded for international markets as the Xiaomi 13 Lite. This isn’t surprising since Xiaomi is well-known for its rebranding initiatives across countries and regions where it operates.
The leaked video comes courtesy of tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore. It shows the Xiaomi 13 Lite getting unboxed to reveal the exact same phone as the Civi 2, complete with a 67W charger in the box.

There are two 32MP selfie shooters in the distinct pill-shaped housing on the phone’s display. It also looks awfully similar to Apple’s implementation of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro. While there’s no official Xiaomi software to give this oval space similar transformational abilities as the iPhone, some third-party and Google Play Store applications can do the trick.
Ambhore has also listed other specs of the Xiaomi 13 Lite in his leak, including a 6.55-inch 120Hz FHD display, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, a 50MP (IMX 766) + 20MP + 2MP (macro) camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W charging. These are the exact same specs as the Xiaomi Civi 2.
