Following the news that Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks will be closing down, the studio has announced that it plans to release one final patch for the rhythm-action game today. While the developer didn’t provide specifics, it did mention that this patch will address several minor issues in the game and that plans are still in place to release a physical edition of Hi-Fi Rush in partnership with Limited Run Games for Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

With Tango being caught in the crossfire of Microsoft’s cost-cutting plans, the company has been heavily criticized for this decision to shut down a beloved studio with a long history of popular games. Xbox president Sarah Bond recently attempted to defend the decision with a vague answer, while head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty reportedly said the company needed more smaller-scale games that win awards just a day after staff at Tango Gameworks were all fired.

Three other studios have also been closed at Xbox, including Redfall developer Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Games. No further updates are planned for Redfall, but its servers will remain online for the foreseeable future. Additionally, anyone who purchased the premium editions of the game will be eligible to receive credit.
