Summary
- A Google Pixel 10 ad shoot in Vancouver has just come to the surface courtesy of a photographer.
- Images published by the photographer show the Pixel 10 Pro, sporting a largely unchanged design from the Pixel 9 series.
- Furthermore, a storyboard provides some hints about the direction this commercial will take, potentially focusing on AI and camera features like Add Me.
We know that the Google Pixel 10 will launch sometime in the second half of the year, much like the Pixel 9 series. Leaks have revealed a couple of possible changes (and non-changes) in the camera department for the upcoming flagship, while unofficial renders some months ago suggested no major design changes. We’re now being treated to our first real-world look at the Pixel 10, courtesy of a photographer on a walk.
According to Mark Teasdale, a crew of over 20 people was present at a beach in Vancouver, Canada, shooting a commercial for the Pixel 10 series (via 9to5Google). Based on the close-up images Teasdale captured, this is most likely the Pixel 10 Pro or the Pro XL in Obsidian, which doesn’t look too different from the Pixel 9 Pro.

Additionally, Teasdale also caught glimpses of a storyboard that details how the ad would go to some extent. The camera will be a big focus of this particular commercial, potentially sprinkled in with some AI magic. The mention of “Ask more of your phone” in one of these storyboard images suggests Google will lean heavily into Gemini Live and other AI elements that will be baked into the upcoming Pixel series.
Zooming into one of the storyboards, we learn that at least a portion of the commercial will discuss the Add Me feature, which is currently exclusive to the Pixel 9 series. It uses Google’s AI smarts to stitch together a couple of photos to ensure everybody is included in the group photo, including the photographer.
We already have a sense of what the commercial will look like
Another angle of the storyboard offers a look at the Pixel 10 Pro’s rear panel, including the camera bar, as well as a brief glimpse of the smartphone’s power button and volume rocker. There’s not much more we can tell from these images shared by Teasdale, though this is perhaps the most elaborate Pixel 10 leak we’ve seen yet. What we see here also aligns with the Pixel 10 renders that surfaced in March.
All indications point to the Pixel 10 launching in August with Android 16 onboard and the brand-new Tensor G5 chipset. The latter marks a big milestone for Google as it is joining forces with TSMC for the first time. Older Tensor chipsets, including the Pixel 9’s Tensor G4, were produced by Samsung.
