Nope, it’s been this way since 2017. Every year, the games are coming. The 1st party high quality exclusives are coming. A week later, we’ve canceled Scalebound. Next they canceled the first Fable reboot attempt. Next lie, we’re building triple studios in 2018. Which one? The Coalition was already established, same with Turn 10, and Playground games. Oh, the Initiative, yeah, never produced a game and just got shutdown. When they purchased Bethesda, the games are coming. I think they all been third party with Starfield being the lone exception, and that was overhyped. I’m sorry, Redfall, the failure that closed a studio. A studio who didn’t want to make the game, they wanted to make another Dishonored. The bigwigs wanted a looter shooter they could attach live service to at some point. Yeah, all failed, all lies. Microsoft has been lying the entire time. Even when they purchased Activision. We will not raise prices or close studios. They’ve done both, they’re liars, that’s been their M.O since 2017 at the very least.
If I’m a game dev and studio and Microsoft comes to me wanting to buy my studio? It will be a no, they close studios who were doing well. Tango put out two games I believe in two years? Maybe three years with Tokyo Wires and Hi Fi rush. Other studios haven’t produced a single project since 2019, or never when you account for the Initiative. Such a waste, and people championed the guy who got them to this point. I knew Phil was blowing smoke in 2017. Refuses to fire the useless Matt Booty. Yeah, I will not buy their crap in 2026. My PC is an Xbox, but I will keep Gamepass as the value is good. However, I’ve noticed the quality of games on Gamepass has taken a dip. I’ve gone months without installing new games.
