Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 Will Soon Let You Tour Jurassic World

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will add the islands of Jurassic World very soon, perfect for those who want to view dinosaurs from a safe distance where nothing could possibly go wrong.

The Jurassic World: Archipelago DLC will add the Muertes Archipelago (also known as The Five Deaths) from the Jurassic Park and World films, located off the coast of Costa Rica, to Microsoft Flight Sim. It will be available in late August or early September, according to a FAQ on the DLC’s website, and will first be available for Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 before later coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

Players will be able to fly between the five islands and parts of Costa Rica to take on various challenges and tours. As for what dinosaurs will be available for viewing in their (sort of) natural habitat, the DLC’s website confirmed the following, with more to be revealed later:

  • Apatosaurus
  • Brachiosaurus
  • Dimorphodon
  • Gallimimus
  • Mosasaurus
  • Pteranodon
  • Stegosaurus
  • Tyrannosaurus rex
  • Velociraptor

The DLC will take place just before the events of 2015’s Jurassic World, with the park on Isle Nublar ready for opening day but without all the guests, and will feature all of the park’s iconic structures as well as functioning monorail system. Isle Sorna, the setting for The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, will also be available for flyby, where players will be able to see the ruins of various Site B facilities used to create the park’s dinosaurs.

Jurassic World: Archipelago is developed by Orbx Studios and will be available directly through the Orbx Direct website (where it sells other Flight Simulator DLC) or in-game through the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 marketplace.

It was reported earlier this year that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as well as other first-party Microsoft titles, would soon be coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. While some games like the upcoming Gears of War: Reloaded have since been announced for PS5, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has not been officially announced for new platforms.

For those who want to take a more hands-on approach to virtual dinosaurs, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is set to release in October, and will add baby dinosaurs to the park-building franchise.
