This highly anticipated Google TV streaming device just hit store shelves, and there are three things you’re not going to like

The successor to Onn 4K Pro is hitting store shelves, and people are starting to get their hands on it. We reported on the streaming stick a little over a week ago, but the best model in the lineup is now

The news comes from 9to5Google, giving us details about a user on Reddit who managed to grab the new Onn 4K Pro streaming device from their local Walmart. The device looks a bit different from last year’s model, with a wider shape, looking similar to Google’s own TV Streamer.

It’s here, and it’s certaintly different

Like the previous model, the top part of the device has cloth material, while the rest is made from plastic. Since this is the brand’s top-end device, you get plenty of ports too, with USB-A, Ethernet, USB-C for power, and HDMI.

Diving into the details, the device will be powered by a quad-core processor and paired with 3GB of RAM. It also pack 32GB of internal storage, which is all pretty much in line with the previous model.

Now, we like that Onn got rid of its DC port for power and swapped it for USB-C. This makes it simple to supply power without having to bring the included AC adapter with you everywhere. We don’t think you’ll be taking this many places, but it’s a small change that we like.

With that said, the brand also made another pretty big change that we think most people won’t like and that’s changing the USB port to a 2.0 variant. This is a downgrade when compared to the previous model, which had a USB 3.0 port.

While it might not affect basic users, those looking to connect a drive and stream video from this port might be left wanting more. Many on Reddit are also disappointed that the Ethernet port remains the same as the old model, capped at 100Mbps.

On the previous model, you could use the USB 3.0 port to achieve faster speeds by using an Ethernet adapter, but with this new model, that’s no longer the case. If all of that wasn’t enough, the new model will apparently cost $10 more than the older one, coming in at $60.

Naturally, if you want an Onn 4K Pro, you’ll want to head into your local Walmart to see if they have them in stock. While new stock isn’t available online, it seems like products are trickling into physical locations.
