NYT Strands today (game #777) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #777, are…
- ADJUST
- MODIFY
- TWEAK
- REFINE
- IMPROVE
- ALTER
- SPANGRAM: THEREIFIXEDIT
- My rating: Hard
- My score: Perfect
Despite the fact that I managed to complete this game without any hints I’m still classing it as “tricky”, because it took me longer than normal to complete — and that was with the big help of a couple of rare letters.
The other head start was that after seeing “there” on the board I decided it had to be a part of the spangram and continued connecting letters until I got to THEREIFIXEDIT — a spangram that felt very similar to a magician pulling an endless handkerchief from a top hat.
Today’s search, then, was all about perfectionism and people who have to get things just so in order to feel they have completed a job to their high standards — a character trait I most certainly do not have myself. Instead of “there I fixed it”, my phrase when repairing things is “there that’ll do”. Maybe us shirkers will get a Strands of our own one day.
