Spotify’s Peloton partnership brings fitness content to your phone, desktop, and TV

Spotify is expanding into an all-new category, at least for it. The music streaming giant, starting today, is introducing ‘guided workout experiences,‘ which brings “fitness into the same ecosystem as music, podcasts, audiobooks, and video.”

5 Spotify features no other music app gets right

What Spotify gets right that others can’t

The streaming giant announced the development in a new blog post earlier today, pointing at upgrades for both free and Spotify Premium users.

Users can expect to gain access to dozens of new curated playlists, alongside content from “established wellness creators” like Yoga with Kassandra, Caitlin K’eli Yoga, Sweaty Studio, Chloe Ting Home Workouts, Pilates Body by Raven, Abi Mills Wellness, Sophiereidfit, and others.

But that’s not the only major addition. The real kicker is Spotify’s partnership with fitness company Peloton, which will only be beneficial for those already paying for Spotify Premium. “Premium users in supported markets will also gain access to a continually growing catalog of more than 1,400 ad-free, on-demand classes as part of their existing subscription,” wrote the tech giant.

This includes a catalog that includes everything from outdoor runs to structured mat-class options, all available across the Spotify mobile apps, on desktop, and on your TV too.

It all adds up

The addition makes sense, especially considering the numbers the streaming giant quoted. According to Spotify, nearly 70 percent of Premium users already work out monthly, and there are over 150 million fitness playlists active on the platform. So with the new addition, Spotify is simply trying to centralize fitness-related content for those browsing on Spotify.

Here’s how Premium users can access the full collection of Peloton content:

  1. Open the Spotify app on mobile, desktop, or your TV device.
  2. Search “fitness” to open the Fitness hub, or find it in Browse all.
  3. From there, you can explore classes and curated playlists to find the perfect session for your mood and goals.

Workouts are primarily available in English, with some options available in Spanish and German as well. Users have the option to download classes, which is a huge bonus for those who want to do an outdoor run or workout in a gym with spotty or no Wi-Fi.
