Motorola has announced its Razr lineup for 2026, featuring three refreshed clamshell phones. Unfortunately, this year’s devices come with a price increase. The Razr Ultra starts at a mind-numbing $1,500, and the news doesn’t get better for the other variants. The Razr+ now starts at $1,100, and the base Razr will set you back $800.
Thankfully, there’s a way for you to get much of the same look and feel of the new Razrs at a fraction of the cost. You can pick up a renewed Razr 2025 on Amazon for $340, a significant discount. Even if you want a new one, it costs $600. Given the modest upgrade year-over-year, it’s an excellent idea to pick up the older Razr for less and still enjoy much of what makes Moto’s phones fun.

The new Razr isn’t completely without upgrades. Moto fitted its entry-level foldable with a faster chipset, a bigger battery, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Still, the Razr 2025 isn’t a slouch, especially for less than half the price. Its Dimensity 7400 chipset still delivers a smooth user experience, and I get all-day battery life from its 4,500mAh cell.
I get rich, vibrant photos from its 50MP sensor, and I don’t feel any fear of missing out by not buying the newer model.
In addition, it’s sleek and stylish, which is part of the reason I love carrying around a clamshell foldable, and I don’t need the newer model to get that experience.
It’s worth noting that the Razr 2026 will most likely enjoy the aggressive discounts that last year’s model did. Motorola is notorious for high initial MSRPs, only to see them cut significantly throughout the year. If you’re buying a phone right now, I’d definitely lean towards the Razr 2025. However, that could change in a couple of months’ time, when the new model starts going on sale and with carrier deals. Plus, the Spring Bud colorway still looks absolutely gorgeous.
