Get to Oasis, Now! A Squid Side Major Order Could Significantly Help Out the Helldivers 2 Community

May 1, 2026

One Major Order is way too easy for devoted Helldivers 2 players, so J.O.E.L threw them a side MO this time. Well, it’s actually a huge Strategic Opportunity, and if the Helldivers manage to pull it off, they’ll have an easier time completing the main MO. So, let’s see what it’s all about.

The Side Major Order Is on the Squid Front

As you probably know, the current main Major Order asks the players to defend key DSS facilities on Tarsh, Claorell, and Gaellivare. However, the bots are relentless, so J.O.E.L has given the players an opportunity to gain an advantage. Helldivers were given another MO, or rather a Strategic Opportunity.

The dispatch explained: “MINDEF Cyberwarfare has identified a critical vulnerability in the Automaton network. Specialists on OASIS are actively deconstructing firewall bypass nodes at over 120 WPM–but they need more time. And the Illuminate have just launched an invasion of the planet. If the Helldivers can repel the Illuminate assault, the cyber specialists may be able to secure intel of high value against the current Automaton invasion”.

In order to complete this MO, Helldivers have to hold Oasis when the order expires. At the time of writing this article, they have less than 22 hours left. It won’t be easy, but the Helldivers managed to pull off way more complicated tasks.

Helldivers 2 Players Don’t Feel Like Fighting the Illuminate for the Side MO

Currently, there are almost 8k Helldivers on Oasis. The DSS is also already there. However, the Helldivers will have to do their absolute best with this one. If this side Major Order fails, the Helldivers 2 community has wasted 24 hours of the main MO on nothing.

Ever since the Battle for Super Earth, Helldivers have fought the Illuminate almost continuously. Even though the Squid front has improved quite a lot, many Helldivers are tired of it. One player noted: “Even when it’s a bot MO… it’s still secretly a squid MO lmao”.

On top of that, the latest patch brought quite a few improvements to bots (it also brought some bugs, but let’s focus on the positive), making the bot front quite alluring. In other words, the current number of players on Tarsh is around 19k, which is more than double the player count on Oasis. Unfortunately, the Helldivers are fighting a losing battle on both of these planets.

Now, we always say fight wherever you feel like fighting. However, the main MO will last for another six days, and this side MO is very time-limited. So, we’d advise you to join us on Oasis. Let’s fry some Squids together. We should be done just in time for the Control Group Warbond to drop. For Liberty and Super Earth.
