Tips and Games That Will Make You Fall in Love With Your Steam Deck Again

Let’s face it – life can get busy sometimes. When it does, the first things to go are hobbies, especially those that are time-consuming. Thus, gaming is usually the first to go when you don’t have that much time for yourself. So, you put down your Steam Deck and stop playing games. Weeks or maybe even months fly by, and when you finally have some time for your favorite hobby, it just isn’t as appealing as it once was. You might scroll through the Library, but nothing calls to you. Well, don’t worry, that’s completely normal, and you just need some time to rediscover the appeal.

Which Games Will Make You Want to Start Using the Steam Deck Again?

Honestly, in our experience, the best way to get back into something is to dive in. Not to say that you shouldn’t think the situation through, but rather trust your instincts. So, which games are the best when you want to return to gaming?

Classics and personal favorites. Now, this might sound obvious, but returning to a game that you once adored might re-ignite a similar feeling. Steam Deck is actually great for older games, and with all the remasters, you’ll likely have a good experience. We’ll always suggest Red Dead Redemption, as it’s one of our favorites. Recently, there’s been a lot of hype around Last of Us II Remaster and the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster.

New and overly hyped games. If you pick a game you’ve already played, you might play for a couple of hours, put it down, and never continue. But if you start a new adventure, you’ll be hooked. It’s quite funny, but some people (us included!) develop an aversion toward something that’s overhyped. However, something fresh and exciting might be just what you need. One of the most amazing newer games that we can recommend is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Another good pick would be fast-paced games, such as Marvel Rivals. Also, you can always check the Steam Deck Top Played list.

You shouldn’t overthink it, just select the game and start playing. Of course, it’s completely fine if you are one of the players who prefer a bigger selection. That’s why bundles such as the July Humble Choice are good options. You get some quite good picks at a fraction of the price.
