If you’ve been considering a smart ring recently, you may have thought the Oura Ring 4 was your only choice, but a new challenger from RingConn is soon going to arrive. It’s the RingConn Gen 3, and here’s what you should know about it before pre-ordering.
How much does the RingConn Gen 3 cost?
The RingConn Gen 3 was announced at CES 2026, but it has taken a while for the smart ring to be made available to buy. Pre-orders opened on May 5, and it’s scheduled for release on May 29.
Following legal action from Oura in 2025, there was a concern the RingConn Gen 3 may not arrive in the US, but at the time of writing it seems the smart ring is available for delivery in the US, which is great news.
It costs $349 in Royal Gold, Future Silver, and Matte Black finishes, or $369 for the new Brushed Silver and Brushed Rose Gold finishes. If you pre-order through RingConn’s online store, there’s a 10% reduction on these prices, making them $314 or $332 respectively.
Unlike the Oura Ring 4, there’s no subscription attached to the RingConn Gen 3, so there are no ongoing costs. It’s available in sizes six to 15, and a sizing kit is recommended if you don’t know your smart ring size.
What makes the RingConn Gen 3 special?
The RingConn Gen 3 tracks activity, sleep, stress, blood oxygen levels, heart rate, sleep apnea, and women’s health, just as you’d expect.
New for the Gen 3 is Vascular Health monitoring. After calibrating the smart ring with blood pressure results from a cuff, it uses vascular load indicators to show long-term trends — Stable, Slight, Noticeable — to help better understand your heart health.
It’s important to note the RingConn Gen 3 does not measure blood pressure, and there’s almost no mention of blood pressure in the company’s literature around the smart ring. Instead, the Vascular Health feature is designed to help visualize trends, and see how your lifestyle can affect them.
The RingConn Gen 3 has a vibration motor inside which will alert the wearer about any changes in health, reminders to move around, and low battery alerts too. It can’t be used for app notifications from your phone though.
The good news is, RingConn has upgraded the battery and built new software to ensure the vibration motor doesn’t ruin battery life. It’s promising 11 to 14 days of battery life if you don’t use the vibration mode, and 10 to 12 days if it’s switched on.
What about the RingConn Gen 3’s hardware?
Like the RingConn Gen 2, the RingConn Gen 3 is made of titanium and epoxy resin, and is both waterproof to 100 meters and has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
The smart ring is 2.3mm thick, which is 0.3mm thicker than the RingConn Gen 2 and RingConn Gen 2 Air, and slightly heavier at between 2.5 and 3.5 grams, depending on the size of smart ring you wear. RingConn has not confirmed the width of the Gen 3. For comparison, the Oura Ring 4 is 2.88mm thick and weighs between 3.3 and 5.2 grams, depending on the size.
The RingConn Gen 3 comes with a charging case suitable for travel in the box. It takes about 90 minutes to charge the ring’s battery, and 120 minutes to charge the case itself. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 to connect to your phone, and the RingConn app is available for Android and iOS.
What about the competition?
The Oura Ring 4 is the RingConn Gen 3’s main competition. It lacks the Vascular Health and vibration feature, but makes up for it with a comprehensive app and lifestyle tracking, plus a choice of either titanium or ceramic materials. It requires a $6 per month subscription.
Ultrahuman is also launching the Ultrahuman Ring Pro. It will be available in the US from June 20, and costs $479.
Alternatively, screen-less trackers like the Whoop 5.0 and new Fitbit Air may appeal if you’re put off by wearing a ring.
