What you need to know

  • Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses could debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 in July 2026.
  • The smart glasses are expected to feature cameras, speakers, microphones, and a sunglasses-like design.
  • Samsung may launch two Galaxy Glasses models, including one version with a built-in AR display.

Samsung is coming all guns blazing at Meta Ray-Ban, and it looks like we finally know when the company’s smart glasses are coming.

Samsung has reportedly been working on smart glasses for well over a year now, and recent leaks have already given us an early idea of what to expect from the Meta Ray-Ban competitor. The Galaxy Glasses are expected to come in two models and feature a sunglasses-like design with built-in cameras, speakers, and microphones.

Samsung had already confirmed earlier that Galaxy Glasses would arrive later this year, but until now, we didn’t really have a launch timeline. Thankfully, a new report from the Korean outlet Seoul Economic Daily claims Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Glasses during its next Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung is rumored to be hosting the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026, in London. The company is expected to unveil its next lineup of foldables there, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and even the rumored Wide Fold, which is expected to compete against Apple‘s foldable iPhone.

Android Central’s take

I’ve been a big fan of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses for a while now, but if Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses are even half as good while running Android XR, they could instantly replace them for me. One thing I’ve always missed on the Meta glasses is a truly capable AI assistant like Gemini as well as deeper app support, and Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses might finally bring that.

Now it looks like Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses could also make an appearance at the same event.

Previous leaks suggest the Galaxy Glasses will run on Android XR and launch in two versions, one with a built-in display similar to XREAL glasses and another without an AR display entirely. If true, these could become the first smart glasses to ship with Android XR out of the box.

There are still no details about pricing yet, but with the rumored launch now just a couple of months away, we expect more information about the Galaxy Glasses to surface very soon.
