Listen, we know why you’re really watching Summer Game Fest, and it’s not for the jaw-dropping announcements, long-anticipated release dates, or celebrity cameos. No. What you’re really after is a look at host Geoff Keighley’s expansive, suit-filled closet, so let’s jump into the look he served up this year.
This year, Keighley broke away from his usual all-black dress code for what is probably my favorite look of his since his blue velvet look at the 2022’s The Game Awards. The host opted for a monochrome look, pairing a burgundy satin suit jacket with a slightly deeper hued dress shirt. It’s a striking combo that plays with texture and creates more visual interest than his usual outfits do. It’s also quite dapper, if I say so myself; he’d look right at home with a Sherlock-esque smoking pipe in his hand, and that’s always a compliment. Though burgundy doesn’t scream “summer,” overall, I think he nailed the assignment.
However, if I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, I think this outfit would have been even better if Geoff would have matched both his dress pants and shoes as well. Monochromatic looks are the most impactful when the wearer truly embraces the color from head-to-toe; the black pants and black-and-white sneakers take away from the outfits warmth and create a very clear visual divide. Don’t get me wrong, I applaud Geoff for going a bit bolder than usual, but would urge him not to hold back next time he graces the stage.
Naturally, Geoff’s outfit wasn’t the night’s only big reveal. From Alien: Isolation 2 to legendary game director Fumito Ueda’s next title, Gen Alpha, Summer Game Fest 2026 has been packed with big announcements.
