Prime Day storage deals start now — score early discounts on SSD, NAS, and more

June 11, 2026

The prices on memory and storage devices are at an all-time high, and with the growing demands of AI infrastructure, the crisis is unlikely to go away any time soon. That being said, it’s not all bad news, as Amazon is currently slashing prices on a bunch of popular external storage devices ahead of Prime Day 2026.

Whether you need a portable SSD for on-the-go file management or a powerful NAS for Plex, I’ve dropped a selection of my favorite active storage deals below. Some of these devices might drop the price of external storage down to $0.20 per GB or less, so take a look and see what you can find.

Sure, prices might get even lower when Prime Day officially kicks off on June 23rd, but for folks who don’t want to wait, these are some of the most cost-effective storage solutions on the web today. Didn’t find what you were looking for? Check back later to see what’s new: I’ll keep adding new storage deals to this list as we approach the big sale.

When is Prime Day 2026?

Prime Day 2026 is set for June 23rd through the 26th, which gives you four full days to explore some of the best tech deals of the year.

Do I have to be a member to shop during Amazon Prime Day?

Although some deals will be available to the general public, the best offers will be reserved for Amazon Prime members. Haven’t signed up yet? Don’t forget that Amazon offers a 30-day free trial so you can explore all of the benefits of Prime — such as free shipping and unlimited streaming — without paying a cent. You can even cancel as soon as the sale is over with zero hassle.

Why are storage devices so expensive right now?

Although there are a number of factors at play, the current RAM and storage crisis is largely happening because of the rapid growth of artificial intelligence infrastructure. Simply put, AI data centers require a staggering amount of storage, and this has resulted in a supply shortage for consumer-grade devices. Tech that uses onboard storage and RAM (such as Android phones) is also getting more expensive because of the shortage, so upcoming sales like Amazon Prime Day are more crucial than ever before.
