Some offer a creative twist, while others rely on a nostalgic touch. The latter is where the Epilogue Flashback sits, offering Android and iOS users a chance to take pictures just like they would with a Game Boy Camera (via Retro Dodo).
A retro classic that’s now on Android
If you don’t know what the Game Boy Camera is, don’t worry, you’re not going to be alone. It was originally released back in 1998, and it was a camera that connected to Nintendo’s Game Boy. It allowed users to take photos, and made this process fun and easy. By today’s standards, the image quality is absolutely terrible, and it wasn’t all that great even when it first released.

The app is pretty straightforward. You install it and launch into an extremely low-resolution photo preview. There are various options for the app as well, allowing users to choose different palettes, shutter speeds, exposure settings, sharpness, grain, and more. You can even take videos using this app.
What takes this app to another level is that you can sync it with the Game Boy Camera hardware to create a mix of physical and digital experiences. You will need some extra hardware in addition to the Game Boy Camera, which Epilogue does sell. For the most part, this is a fun little app that you can experiment with.
