I’ve worn the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic for 8 months, and at $279 it’s the smartest Prime Day buy

If you’re going to buy one tech product over the capitalism-fest that is Amazon Prime Day 2026, then I think you should make it the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic.

Oura has made it quite simply too good to resist by dropping the retail price by 44%, from $499 to $279.

Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than the Prime Day promotion for the titanium Oura Ring 4, and yes, it needs a subscription, but let me explain why this is the Oura Ring to buy right now. Even over the new Oura Ring 5.

Ceramic is the way to go

All the durability you want

Why do I recommend the ceramic Oura Ring 4 over the titanium version? It’s all because of the incredible durability of the material.

I last wrote about how the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic’s finish was holding up after wearing it for 1,400 hours, or around two months. It hadn’t collected a single mark or blemish.

That was in November 2025, so what about in June 2026? If I look really, really closely, I can spot one, single, tiny mark on the surface. It’s impossible to notice unless you take the smart ring off and examine it millimeter by millimeter.

The titanium Oura Ring 4 picks up far more serious marks after a matter of weeks, and it can ruin the look in a far more noticeable way.

Simply, if you want a smart ring that stays looking its best for the longest possible time, then the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic is your best choice.

The colors are beautiful

Subtle, but eye-catching

The Oura Ring 4 Ceramic in our photos is the Midnight version. It’s a dark blue, but not one that edges too close to black. Instead, it’s obviously blue, but not showy or bright enough that it’ll clash with what you’re wearing.

It joins Cloud, Petal, and Tide, a selection of more pastel tones that lessen the very metallic finishes (and classic jewelry colors) offered for the titanium version. Midnight works so well because it doesn’t make such a big statement, and remains gender-neutral too.

I also really like the way the ceramic model smooths out the edges of the ring, and how it has a slight curve to the surface. It makes it even more comfortable, and far less noticeable when you wear it compared to the more squared-off titanium version.

All the same Oura Ring benefits

Even compared to the Oura Ring 5

I know what you’re thinking. What about the Oura Ring 5? Why buy an old version?

The important thing to understand is, the Oura Ring 5 differs in hardware, but not by app or features. It may provide some accuracy benefits, but like all wearables, ongoing trends are more important (and beneficial) to observe than strict, day-to-day data.

All the features you get with the Oura Ring 5, which costs $399, are available on the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic. That includes the new Live Activity tracking, Health Tracker, and GLP-1 metrics. The app, which you will have to pay $6 per month to view and use, is identical.

The Oura Ring 5 looks great, and it does seem like the redesign will provide some comfort and wear benefits. However, I’ve worn the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic 24-hours-a-day since October 2025, and never once felt the need to take it off because it was annoying or uncomfortable.

Why have I only worn it since last October? That was when it was released. Buy the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic for $279 now, and you’re getting a product that came out less than a year ago, based on a previous version that debuted in October 2024.

This is not an old, outdated product. It hasn’t really been drastically superseded either. Instead, it’s the shrewdest tech product purchase you could make for Prime Day 2026.

Everything must go!

Except the Oura Ring 5

The Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring 4 Ceramic

Oura is likely clearing the shelves to focus all its (and our) attention on the Oura Ring 5. There is no ceramic version of the Oura Ring 5 at this time.

It has also explicitly stated there are no current plans to offer any discounts on the Oura Ring 5, so you can buy with some confidence you’re not going to see that version slashed by a large percentage next week.

The Oura Ring 4 Ceramic is the ideal version of my ideal lifestyle tracker. It looks great, it’s durable, it’s reliable, and the app is one of the best in the business for design and legibility.

I recommend it at full price, which makes a 44% reduction to $279 far too good for me to ignore. Much as the Oura Ring 5 looks great, save yourself hundreds and buy the fantastic Oura Ring 4 Ceramic instead.
