Meta’s new Glasses aim to go mainstream with a new lower price tag

Despite being out for a few years now, smart glasses still really aren’t a thing. We’ve seen brands attack this product category in their own way, but for now, it looks like Meta is the only one that is really hitting the sweet spot when it comes to style, features, and price.

Realizing that its glasses are a bit on the pricier side, Meta has released new Glasses, with a starting price of $299. When compared to its previous model, which has a starting price of $379, that’s a pretty big difference.

The great part about this is that the technology inside doesn’t change. When it comes to the hardware, you’re getting a 12MP camera with 3K resolution, along with eight hours of battery life. It comes with a charging case so you can keep the glasses topped up if needed.

The glasses also have open-ear speakers, along with six microphones to ensure voice clarity when communicating with the device or people on the phone. These glasses provide access to Meta AI, Live Translation, and capturing images and videos on the go.

The glasses provide a different way to stay connected and interact with the world around you. The new glasses will come in three styles: Adventurer, Fury, and Meta Glasses by Kylie.

You can also customize the look by choosing different color frames and lenses. Furthermore, prescription lenses will also be possible for this model. Again, this is a solid price difference when compared to the previous model that was built in collaboration with Ray-Ban.

If you’ve been thinking about buying a pair of Meta smart glasses, now’s going to be a great time to dive in. We reviewed the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and found that they were a ton of fun. Naturally, they aren’t perfect, but for the most part, they work pretty well.

They won’t be for everyone, but we still gave them a solid 9/10. So, with the new models making their debut, we suggest giving them a try.
