Back in November, Google gave Chrome a really significant autofill boost. For reference, prior to November 2025, autofill was limited to filling out password, address and payment information. With the upgrade last year, the same feature gained access to filling out your passport and driver’s license numbers, alongside other important information like your vehicle’s VIN and plate numbers.
Starting today, Google is expanding these capabilities to Android and iOS.
The mobile rollout finally bridges the gap for those who prefer to browse on their phone and not on their desktop.
Chrome will source information directly from Google Wallet, but only with your explicit permission. Similar to other autofill data, your new information will remain secure and encrypted.
Elsewhere, Google also announced that it was further deepening its integration with Google Wallet across mobile and desktop by giving Chrome the ability to leverage Wallet to automatically fill forms.
“Chrome can now automatically fill forms using data that’s stored in your Google Wallet, including driver’s license details, passport information and your Known Traveler Number,” wrote the tech giant. The company added that if said information isn’t already saved in your Google Wallet, you will be offered an option to save them when you enter them in Chrome for the first time.
If you ever need to tweak what Chrome remembers, you’ll have the option to manage and update your personal data in your Google Wallet settings or on the ‘Autofill and passwords’ page in your Chrome settings.
Private Passes like IDs, on the other hand, can be managed through their own controls, as seen in the short GIF above.
