This Sony OLED TV has a near-perfect rating on Amazon — and it just dropped to a record low price for Prime Day

I’ve been planning to switch to OLED for years, but with everything getting so expensive lately, I’ve been waiting for the right smart TV deal to come along before I commit to a particular model. Fortunately, thanks to Prime Day 2026, that day has arrived, as Amazon is slashing 33% off the 55-inch OLED BRAVIA XR8B Google TV by Sony.

This Prime Day discount drops the price of the 55-inch set down to $998, which is the lowest price ever recorded for the TV. As if the price drop alone wasn’t enough, Amazon will also deliver and unpack the Sony TV in your room of choice at no additional cost.

The BRAVIA XR8B has a 4.7 out of 5 star rating, which — as you’ll know if you’ve spent any time shopping on Amazon — is no small feat. Powered by 8 million self-lit pixels, the Google TV delivers intensely immersive blacks with dazzling brightness, plus you’ll enjoy Dolby Vision and Atmos support, Acoustic Surface Audio+, and real-time XR processing so all of your favorite content looks and sounds as good as possible.

Since it’s a Sony TV, you also get a bunch of exclusive PlayStation 5 features built right in, such as HDR tone mapping and “Auto Genre Picture Mode”, so your set will automatically switch to Game Mode when you’re gaming on the console.

I’ll be honest: I don’t necessarily think that OLED TVs are for everyone. If you just want good picture at an affordable price, then there are plenty of excellent Android TVs that will get the job done for way less money. But if you want the most immersive and detailed image quality possible, OLED is the way to go, and this Sony BRAVIA TV deal presents an approachable way for you to enjoy the technology’s potential without breaking the bank.
