The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wider sibling have already leaked multiple times, leaving little to the imagination. With Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event now just weeks away, the company is beginning to tease its upcoming foldables, offering an early glimpse at what to expect.
Samsung has cleared all the posts on its Instagram account, leaving only a handful of them behind. If you look at the company’s profile, the pinned posts feature jigsaw puzzle-shaped objects and the tagline, “New Shape. New Joy.” Another post shows a chocolate bar that can be split into three separate pieces, which invariably hints at the Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and their Flip sibling.
There are also three teaser videos on Samsung’s Instagram profile, again indirectly teasing a “new shape.” If you have been following the leaks and rumors, you will know that Samsung is hinting at the wider new foldable addition due to join its lineup in a few weeks from now.
Samsung has not officially announced the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, though rumors point to July 22 as the most likely date. The event will apparently take place in London. With the company already kicking off its teaser campaign for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, an official announcement is likely just around the corner.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide’s wider aspect ratio and more compact form factor could make it a better fit for most users. A wider cover display would make the phone easier to type on, more comfortable to use one-handed, and practical enough to handle everyday tasks without unfolding it every time.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will take on the upcoming iPhone Foldable
Samsung is making big changes to its foldable lineup this year to take on the foldable iPhone. The latter will launch in September this year, marking Apple’s entry into the foldable market. That’s bound to create a lot of buzz, increasing consumer interest in foldables and pushing the overall market forward.
Given the DRAM and NAND supply crunch, though, Samsung will most likely increase the prices of its 2026 foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 already costs $2,000, and its successor may carry an even higher price tag.
