Google gives Pixel owners a rare second chance to buy Pixel Care+

July 15, 2026

Like AppleCare+, Google offers Pixel Care+ protection plan for Pixel phones. It offers additional protection beyond the standard warranty, covering accidental damage, drops, and even theft protection. Normally, you need to enroll your Pixel within 60 days of purchase. For a limited time, Google is allowing existing Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 owners to add Pixel Care+ coverage through August 2.

As long as your Pixel is fully functional and free of physical damage, you can enroll it in the Pixel Care+ program. The offer runs through August 2 and applies to the following Pixel devices:

  • Pixel 9
  • Pixel 9 Pro
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL
  • Pixel 9a
  • Pixel 10
  • Pixel 10 Pro
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • Pixel 10a

Notably, the offer does not extend to Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel 10 Pro Fold or the Pixel Watch.

Still, if you own any of the Pixels mentioned above and live in the US, you can purchase Pixel Care+ protection for your phone through Google’s online store or the My Pixel app. The biggest perk is that eligible screen repairs and battery replacements are completely free, with a $0 service fee. The plan also covers accidental damage and post-warranty hardware failures.

If you opt for the higher-tier plan, you can add Loss and Theft Protection for added peace of mind. Google will allow you to file up to two claims per year for Loss and Theft.

Do note that Loss and Theft coverage is not available in New York. Keep in mind that this coverage is not available in New York and only applies in the country where you purchased your Pixel Care+ plan.

This is good news for clumsy Pixel owners

You can pay for Pixel Care+ monthly for up to 60 months or pay upfront for a two-year fixed term.

Depending on your device, Pixel Care+ costs between $8 and $15 per month. If you prefer a one-time payment, pricing for the two-year fixed-term plan ranges from $159 to $279.

While Google won’t charge any service fee for cracked front screen or back glass replacements, any other accidental damage repairs will cost a $99 service fee. There’s also a deductible fee ranging from $79 to $99 for Loss and Theft claims.

If you have butterfingers or tend to misplace your phone, now is a good time to enroll in Pixel Care+ for some added peace of mind.
