How Long Is Splatoon Raiders

The Splatoon franchise has historically focused on chaotic multiplayer mayhem that pits teams against each other to see who can emerge from the paint victorious. While the games have featured campaigns, these supplementary modes have largely felt more like training grounds than fully fleshed-out experiences. That all changes with Splatoon Raiders.

Splatoon Raiders is the series’ first foray into a strictly campaign-focused adventure, unleashing players onto a mysterious set of islands to search for treasure and find a way home. And since this game lacks the competitive multiplayer modes that have defined the franchise so far, that means you’ll be tackling objectives at your own pace, either alone or in online co-op. If you want to know just how long it might take you to do so, let’s take a look.

How long is Splatoon Raiders?

An average playthrough of Splatoon Raiders will take around 15-18 hours. This includes playing through the game’s main missions while engaging moderately in its optional content, such as completing tasks that reward additional outfits, tinkering with dozens of weapon variations, and searching for some hidden Salmonid Relic collectibles. Of course, the time spent beating the game will also vary based on which of the three difficulty choices you pick: Tourist (Easy), Raider (Medium), or Survivalist (Hard).

Fully completing the game is far more challenging, of course, and can take considerably longer to accomplish. Collecting every weapon, gadget, outfit, and Salmonid Relic can add significant playtime to your save file. After beating the campaign, you can dive back in alone or with friends to tackle a difficult endgame that demands you consistently upgrade your gear and prepare well for each raid.

If you’re aiming to complete Splatoon Raiders’ post-game campaign, you can easily push past the 40-hour mark–but the fun doesn’t stop there, either. Much of the appeal of this game is playing with friends (and strangers), meaning there’s a lot of fun to be had coming to the aid of others with your powerful gear and assisting them in taking on harder and harder challenges. So, even once you’ve seen much of what the game has to offer, those who truly enjoy the gameplay loop can find dozens of additional hours of gameplay in working as a team, grinding out even more goodies, and slowly amassing stronger gear.

Splatoon Raiders is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
