Google rolled out “daily brief’ for Gemini earlier this past spring, and you couldn’t avoid the Samsung Now Brief similarities. The company has reportedly kick-started development for a refreshing change.
Google often runs tests for many features, and Android Authority claims to have discovered its latest for Gemini’s daily digest. The publication dove into a recent app version with tipster AssembleDebug, who discovered a “Tune your brief” function for Daily Brief. When tuning, the tipster claims users can open a sub-menu that offers a glimpse into what Gemini rounds up for you, as well as suggestions.
“Important events” and “action items” were a couple of items highlighted by the AI; however, it suggests adding email newsletters, updates from your child’s school, and more. Much of this is coming from your connected Gmail and Calendar accounts. Alternatively, users can interact with the textbox for better customization.

It’s a good direction that Google’s taken it, and I think “tuning” it even further, to nail exactly what we want, can make a huge difference in the long run.
You might remember Gemini Spark from the days of Google I/O 2026. This is an AI agent for Google’s main AI that’s eager to become more proactive. Spark features deep integration with the user’s Gmail, Docs, Slides, and more, and Gemini’s Daily Brief was an extension of this mindset. Personalized morning digests are the main course in the AI’s Daily Brief.
Google said, “Daily Brief goes beyond simple summaries by actively organizing and prioritizing information based on your goals, while also suggesting what you should do next.” What the tipster found in this “tuning” leak is kind of what Google’s feedback options did. Currently, users can thumbs up or down the information provided in their Daily Brief. It’s not the best way to tell the AI what you want or don’t want. Of course, directly tuning it will provide the best results.
