If you had dreams of holding a Pistachio Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in your hands in early August and haven’t pre-ordered one yet, it seems that your dream will have to be deferred until fall.
The web-exclusive color was not getting added to people’s carts at checkout for a while, and though it’s showing up now, the delivery estimate when we tried to order both the 256GB and 512GB models was listed as Oct. 9. The 1TB model has a delivery estimate of Aug. 21.
However, there’s a steep price to pay if you want to get the 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 8 just to speed up delivery. It’s $2,499.99, compared to $1,899.99 for the 256GB version and $2,099.99 for the 512GB version.
Color theory proved wrong
The popularity of Pistachio might be a surprise to Pantone, who declared that the color of 2026 is Cloud Dancer, “ a lofty white that serves as a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection.”
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes in a remarkably close shade, Cream, which is ready to arrive in all three sizes in August. The same goes for Lavender and Graphite.
Form factor follows function
Not only did Samsung know exactly which color was special enough to make it web-exclusive, it seems to have quite a hit already with the phone, in part because of its size.
The wider foldable is a good size for consuming content, which seems to be fueling sales. It’s reportedly outselling the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and prominent leaker Ice Universe said they expect it to be become Samsung’s best-selling foldable device of all time.
Android Police’s Andy Boxall spent a weekend with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and said he believes Samsung has a hit on their hands with it.
“I believe it will change people’s minds about whether a larger foldable will work for them or not,” Boxall said.
It’s just that if they want that foldable in Pistachio, they’ll have to be a bit patient.
