The closer we get to Made by Google next week, the bigger the leaks of what we’ll see there are. Today’s big leak is the Pixel Watch 5.
MyMobiles in conjunction with OnLeaks has released what it says are the marketing materials for Google’s latest smartwatch and they lay out nearly everything there is to know.
The full spec sheet is included. (See below.)
More storage, same battery life
According to it, both sizes of the Pixel Watch 5 will have 64GB of storage, double that of the Pixel Watch 4, and come with WearOS 7.
The 41mm version will have a 332 mAh battery for 30 hours of battery life (48 hours with battery saver), and the 45mm version will have a 465 mAh battery for 40 hours of battery life (72 with battery saver). While the battery sizes are incrementally bigger than those of the Pixel Watch 4h, the battery life estimates remain the same.
Both models are rated IP68 for dust- and water-resistance, the same as the Pixel Watch 4.
Gemini is always listening
The materials highlight Gemini as an assistant that “anticipates your needs and delivers helpful information at just the right moment.”
The Pixel Watch 5 has Proactive Suggestions to “recommend context-aware replies based on your conversation.”
Wellness is top of mind
As with the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4, there is loss of pulse detection, in which case the materials say, the Pixel Watch 5 will automatically call for help. It comes with the caveat that the feature is not intended for those with preexisting heart conditions or who require cardiac monitoring.
Google also touts “our most accurate sleep tracking yet.” It delivers a sleep score that factors in the time spent in each sleep stage as well as breathing rate. There is no mention of sleep apnea detection, which its competitor the Apple Watch has.
Whether this is a real look at the Pixel Watch 5 will be revealed next Wednesday at Made by Google.
