We never thought a foldable in 2026 would sell out, but here we are. Despite its high price tag that starts at $1,900, the Z Fold 8 is temporarily out of stock at Amazon. That’s a pretty big deal considering that many doubted the wider form factor for the foldable ahead of its release.
The good news is that Amazon will still let you place an order for the phone, it just doesn’t have an estimated delivery date. We can see that Best Buy and Samsung aren’t suffering the same fate, probably because their promotions were a little lackluster this go-around.

The Z Fold 8 will be on its own for some time
The Z Fold 8 will be a unique piece of hardware in the Android space for some time in the US. Despite Google holding its next Pixel event on August 12, we haven’t seen any signs that it’s going to introduce a wide foldable at the event. OnePlus is out of the market, and Nothing isn’t investing in foldables anytime soon.
We’ve heard noise that brands outside the US will debut their own wide foldable phones, but we’ve yet to see anything surface. The only competition that Samsung’s Z Fold 8 will face in the US is from Apple. If rumors are to be believed, Apple will reportedly introduce its very first foldable phone this year. And from what we know, it’s going to look quite similar in design to the Z Fold 8.

If you’ve been looking across the internet, it seems like most people have become believers, praising the Z Fold 8 and its shape. The sales numbers have been great, and it looks like that trend will continue.
