Apple jacked up its MacBook prices this June amid RAMageddon, making it all the more crucial to shop smart and look for deals before you buy a new model. Following some discounts on the M5 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro earlier this month, the retail giant is selling another MacBook Pro variant for $400 off this week. It’s actually cheaper now than it was prior to Apple’s price hike.
The model in question has an upgraded M5 Pro chip with an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, plus 24GB of memory and two terabytes of storage. It typically retails for $3,199 these days — up from $2,899 before June — but right now, it’s marked down to just $2,799 on Amazon. That’s an impressive $400 savings. This is the MacBook I’d recommend to any creative professional who wants an ultra-powerful, long-lasting, and well future-proofed machine that’s easy to take on the go. Apple also makes a 16-inch MacBook Pro with the same specs, which is nice if you want a bigger screen, but at 4.7 pounds, it’s very heavy.
