Google shares new Pixel 11 videos to hype up the new hardware

August 20 is finally upon us, and that means that Google’s new Pixel 11 smartphones are officially here — no more pre-orders, no more hoping to get your shipment early, just full-blown retail availability. And with the hardware entering this new phase, Google is taking the opportunity to show off a little of what its phones can do in a series of new videos shared on YouTube.

Google has not been shy about hyping up the Pixel 11 series, and even in the weeks leading up to its Made by Google launch event, the company was already teasing us with some early Pixel 11 videos. Now that everything’s official, the company’s promotional efforts have shifted gear a little, moving from early peeks at Pixel 11 hardware to shining a spotlight on some software features. First up, we’ve got Magic Capture:

A major theme for much of Google’s launch event last week was using the Pixel 11 to break yourself out of bad phone habits — and for a whole lot of us, that can mean staring at your camera’s viewfinder in an attempt to record the moment, rather than actually taking the time to fully enjoy it. Magic Capture is designed to offer an alternative to just that, automatically snapping pics without the need for constant interaction.

Google’s been making the case for Gemini Intelligence, offering powerful agentic capabilities within your apps, since I/O this past May. It’s just now starting to roll out with devices like the Pixel 11 family and Samsung’s new foldables. And as you can see in the demo here, it doesn’t just recognize when you might want to have it perform a task on your behalf, but can seamlessly jump right into things, only bothering you for confirmation.

Unsurprisingly, even when promoting new hardware is the top agenda item, Google just cannot resist the urge to keep putting Gemini front and center, and that continues with our final clip:

Adding events to your calendar with the help of your phone’s camera is impressive enough, but being able to scale that up to handle half-a-dozen events at once really drives home just how hands-off Gemini is becoming.
