Razer’s new Prio controller folds down small enough to fit in your pocket

Razer just announced the Prio, a new mobile gaming controller built entirely around one idea: your phone is already in your pocket, so your controller should be too. We have all been there, killing time in a waiting room or stuck between classes with nothing but a phone screen for company. Razer wants to turn those dead moments into real gaming sessions, without asking you to carry around a bulky controller.

Small enough to disappear in your pocket

The Prio’s whole pitch rests on its folding design. Collapsed, it is small enough to slide into a pocket without you noticing it is there. Unfold it, and it twists open into a full sized controller shape that fits phones up to 7 inches, covering big screens like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. There is no charging cable to hunt down and no setup ritual. You just pull it out, twist it open, snap your phone in, and you are playing.

Full sized controls packed into a tiny shell

Once open, the Prio gives you a proper controller layout with dual thumbsticks, a 4 way D-pad, face buttons, bumpers, and triggers. Razer says the thumbsticks use capacitive sensing to resist drift on bumpy commutes, and the face buttons are tactile but quiet, so you can game on a bus or in a waiting room without announcing it to everyone around you. There is also a dedicated Razer Cortex Mobile button that lets you jump straight into your game library.

The Prio works with both iPhone and Android, and Razer built it to fit around most phone cases, so you do not have to strip your phone down just to play. It also supports cloud gaming and remote play, so you can stream PC and console games straight to your phone from your PC, console, or the cloud.

Razer is positioning the Prio as something you reach for during life’s small gaps, like the wait between classes or a slow moment in a waiting room. Whether it becomes your everyday controller or just a fun pocket accessory, turning five spare minutes into a real gaming session is hard not to like. If you are interested, you can buy Prio from Razer’s website for $99.
