Are you intrigued by the existence of Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker? These beings, a cross between a moth and a pixie, are fairies who live in small burrows underground. Don’t let their diminutive size fool you, because they’re quite tricky and mischievous, too. However, if you can help them out, you might just receive the most important resource in the game: Time.
Our guide has all the information that you need. We discuss the Good Home quest and Letters to Lunka quest.
All Sanzhani Fairy locations – Good Home and Letters to Lunka guide
There are a total of five Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Here’s the kicker: You won’t be able to see any of them from the get-go. Instead, you have to complete a prerequisite quest called Good Home. From there, you’ll be able to search for the remaining four fairies.
Good Home: Heile, Tonis, and the ruins of Oghasti
First, you have to tackle The Blood of Dawnwalker Good Home quest. Make your way to the quest marker in Svartrau Outskirts and look for a flowerbed with glowing moths.
Follow the glowing insects to the next flowerbed and continue onward until you see a small opening. Crawl through the opening to arrive at a small underground hovel called the Yawning Burrow. There, you’ll meet a little girl named Heile.
- Heile says that she’s from Oghasti, an abandoned village to the south. Make your way there and investigate her old home. Checking out the axe that’s embedded on the wall costs 1x Time Segment.
- Next, go to the larger house, which Heile calls the Wooden Palace. When you investigate the second floor, you’ll consume 2x Time Segments.
- Your next goal is to head to the Coal Burners’ Camp. But, before you do that, bear in mind that there’s another notable quest in Oghasti. It’s called Hedgehog Herb and it grants you an item that increases your maximum health permanently. You can learn more about it in our Hedgehog Herb guide.
- Anyway, travel to the camp and look for trees marked with an “X.” Watch out for wild animals like bears, and keep your eyes peeled for a lone man who’s sitting by a campfire.
- Talk to him and give him an alcoholic drink. Don’t offer to help him with his task as that costs 3x Time Segments.
- You’ll learn that the man is named Tonis, and he’s actually Heile’s older brother. At this stage, you can have Tonis accompany you straight back to the Yawning Burrow.

Meet up with Heile (left) and investigate Oghasti (middle). Eventually, you’ll meet Heile’s brother, Tonis (right).
Good Home: The Sanzhana Tsarina and communicating with Coen’s sister
You’ll then have an encounter with your first Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker. It’s none other than the Sanzhani Tsarina. Try to convince Tonis that Heile’s better off in the burrow to proceed with the next part of the quest chain.
At this point, the Sanzhani Tsarina will tell you that her kind can help you communicate with your sister Lunka. This begins the Letters to Lunka quest. Here’s what you need to know about it:
- You can ask the Sanzhani to deliver one message at a time. You’ll receive Lunka’s reply one day-night transition later.
- Normally, you have to wait for the reply before you can check out the other Sanzhani-related quests. However, we’ve already shown you all the locations in the map above. You can simply go to those areas whenever you want.
- Each Sanzhani quest that you complete lets you send another message to Lunka. You can just keep returning to the Yawning Burrow whenever you want to ask your sister a new question.
Note: Each Sanzhana quest has actions that cost around 2x Time Segments to complete.

Letters to Lunka: Pearly and Precious
This Letters to Lunka quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker is fairly important. It takes place just south of Stoneward Post–i.e. where you freed Mert during the events of The Firebrand. Investigate the destroyed cart and look for the Sanzhana fairy. Then, follow the trail and kill the bandits.
This particular fairy will turn into a special vendor NPC:
- She doesn’t want to buy anything from you, save for Shiny Tooth items. She’ll pay you 150 denarii for each.
- She sells various items, including skill manuals. These still cost denarii.
- One notable item that she has is the Fear of the Wilds legendary amulet. It has weapon damage, attack stamina cost, damage against animals, and AC restoration (attacks).
- She also sells a Silk Thread, which is required for a quest called A Bulwark Against Darkness. However, this item costs around 5,750 denarii.
- Once you leave this location, she’ll move to the Yawning Burrow and she’ll permanently reside there.

Letters to Lunka: Burrow Sorrows
This particular quest is fairly straightforward. Go to the location and talk to the Sanzhana. Then, kill the kobolds in the burrow so you can pick up the charm.

Letters to Lunka: Tiny Dancer
This poor Sanzhana in The Blood of Dawnwalker has been imprisoned in a cage. The house that you’re looking for is near the central area of Svartrau City. Activate Focus Mode so you can see the gold-and-green glow emanating from the interior.
You can enter via the second-floor balcony. If it’s nighttime, just use your Shadowstep/Planeshift. If it’s daytime, head up the sloping pathway and do a running jump to cross the gap.
Anyway, once you’re inside the house, grab the Cage Key and free the pixie. She’ll also tell you that the wicked man that trapped her has some silver hidden in the floorboards. It’s up to you if you want to take out the fella to get extra loot.

Letters to Lunka: Come Hither
This is another notable Letters to Lunka quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker. The point-of-interest is east of the Silty Mug Inn and north of the Vedera Marsh Guardpost. Chat with the fairy and drop down the cavernous area.
Down below, you have to fight a Murohn, a part-vrakhiri creature that’s ferociously feral. Once you’ve finished off the creature, don’t forget to grab the Silk Threads off to the side. Unlike the item being sold by the Sanzhana from earlier, this one’s completely free.

Sanzhani Fairies reward
That’s it! You’ve helped out all the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Go ahead and return to the Yawning Burrow and talk to the Sanzhani Tsarina. For your efforts, you’ll receive the most important reward of all: Time.
The Sanzhani have mysterious powers that most humans can’t even fathom, allowing them to play around with time. Since you’ve helped them immensely, you’ll be given +1 extra day–eight segments for daytime and eight segments for nighttime–effectively extending the deadline to save your family.

That does it for our guide on how to help all the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker. If you’re curious about other magical mysteries in the game, you can head over to our Home Sweet Home/Ambrosius Tower guide.
