With Apple hiking prices across Macs and iPads lately because of the massive memory chip shortage, finding any Apple deal feels like a huge win. So when Apple’s flagship earbuds get a steep price drop right out of the gate, it’s worth paying attention to. As of Sept. 8, the Apple AirPods Pro 3 are down to $199 at Amazon. That’s a $50 drop from their usual $249 price tag.
The AirPods earned a near-perfect 4.75 rating and a Mashable Choice Award in our testing. Reviewer Adam Doud brought them along to a noisy tech conference in Maui, noting that popping them in created a “personal cone of silence” that completely erased background chatter and ocean waves.
Apple essentially doubled the active noise-cancellation power over the Pro 2s. Unlike cheaper buds that only muffle predictable, steady hums, these do an extraordinary job of shutting down sudden, jarring noises like loud voices.
The Pro 3 features built-in heart rate sensors that log workout metrics directly into your iPhone‘s Fitness app, live translation capabilities, and five sizes of foam-infused tips for a tighter seal. Battery life gets a huge boost to eight hours on a single charge with ANC on, and while Adam was annoyed by the lack of custom EQ controls in iOS, he loved the default, well-balanced sound profile.
