Capcom’s support for Nintendo Switch 2 has been non-stop since day one, and it’s only increasing as the publisher has revealed more upcoming releases this fall.
During the September Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds and the Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
The Monster Hunter series had enjoyed a period of exclusivity on Nintendo platforms before, while 2021’s Monster Hunter Rise had been developed originally as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. This Wilds port is also bringing back a staple feature of the series by allowing up to four hunters play together in local wireless co-op. Meanwhile, online full cross-play support is also available.
Monster Hunter Wilds releases on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4. This will also be ahead of the game’s massive Ascendance expansion planned for 2027, which hopefully means Capcom plans to release this for all platforms simultaneously.
It was also announced that the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes will all be releasing on October 16 for Switch 2. This will include all existing content, including the Separate Ways campaign in Resident Evil 4.
With Capcom having released Resident Evil Requiem and ports of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village earlier this year, it now means you can play all of the modern RE Engine Resident Evil games on Nintendo’s console, while Resident Evil Veronica is also scheduled for early 2027.
With releases of new titles including Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, ports like Devil May Cry 5, and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen still to come, this will likely go down as Capcom’s busiest year for the Nintendo Switch 2.
