A few weeks ago, Amazon quietly increased prices across the entire Kindle lineup. The basic Kindle now has a $149.99 list price. If that doesn’t sit well with you and you’re up for a smaller e-reader, there’s a new model that could be perfect. Plus, it’s on sale for a limited time.
As of Sept. 17, the Xteink X4 Pro is on sale at Amazon for $99, down from the normal price of $109. That’s a 9% discount.
While it’s not the best e-reader for everyone, the Xteink X4 Pro has tons going for it if you’re looking for a petite e-reader that’s barely larger than a credit card. Mashable’s e-reader expert Samantha Mangino tested out the new Xteink X4 Pro, and while it’s not replacing her Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo, it could be great for those who read e-books in the PDF and MOBI formats.
Another highlight of the Xteink X4 Pro is the battery life, which can last for up to two weeks with casual reading. The 4.3-inch display means it’s a great travel companion for both plane trips and the train commute to work. There’s also the ability to turn pages via the touchscreen or the physical page-turn buttons.
