Control Resonant is a huge game in general, but in terms of Remedy’s games, it’s certainly the biggest one the studio has ever made. Set in a zone-based semi-open-world version of Manhattan, it’s a huge action game with RPG-like depth in its combat build system. It’s also full of main and side missions that will take you dozens of hours to complete in total. Here’s how long it’ll take you to beat Control Resonant.
How long to beat Control Resonant depending on your play style
If played on the standard difficulty and playing some of the side missions, but perhaps not all of them, you’re likely in for something like 30-35 hours of gameplay in Control Resonant. We’d consider this a typical playthrough for the game, as most people won’t try to wipe the world of every last mission, but the combat difficulty will often push you into side quests just to ensure you’re appropriately leveled for the enemies in your path.
If you are someone who adjusts the difficulty to make it a bit breezier, and/or someone who sticks to only the main path, you could beat the game in something more like 25-30 hours.
Then there are the completionists, of course. If you find yourself going for every last Achievement or the Platinum Trophy, as well as seeing everything the game has to offer, you can expect Control Resonant to take 40-50 hours. This is about double the length of Alan Wake 2, which was Remedy’s longest story-driven game to date.
Control Resonant mission list
If you’re like me, you’re often curious how much of the game you have left to play as you’re making your way through it.
Below, we’ve compiled the Control Resonant main mission list, though you may experience them in a slightly different order depending on which zones you explore first and when you tackle the Fault missions, which explore Dylan and Jesse’s relationship.
The story splits into acts and sections, so we have too, though we’ve left some parts behind spoiler blocks for now, in case you don’t want extra information too soon.
