The Motorola Signature 27 made its debut today at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit sporting the also just revealed Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform.
These details are all rumors that have now been confirmed. Alongside them, we also know that the Signature 27 has Android 17 and Motorola guarantees seven OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
But three big questions remain. The first is: When can you get it? The second is: Will the Motorola Signature be available in the US? And, of course, the last is one of the biggest questions when it comes to any phone release: How much will it cost?
To those questions, Motorola said, “Motorola signature 27 is expected to come to markets worldwide in 2026, and we’ll have more details to share as we get closer to availability. Stay tuned.”
While that’s more than vague, we have had some clues that it will be released in the US, thanks to some not very cryptic social media posts, and from the device’s name, that it will be out in 2027.
In its announcement, Motorola said, “The Motorola Signature 27 is the first of Motorola’s ultra premium devices to adopt a new numerical naming structure that uses the final two digits of the coming year, creating a clear and consistent identity across future generations.”
What’s on the inside
What we do know is a little bit more about the processor.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is built on 2nm TSMC. And its packaging is made for better thermal performance.
Motorola has also packed the Signature 27 with an ArcticMesh cooling system. It has a new diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber.
All of this adds up to setting the Signature 27 up to handle the heat of AI and gaming.
Cameras and sound
The Signature 27 camera has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens to capture details even at a distance.
The phone is outfitted with Motorola’s Video Enhancement Engine that uses AI to automatically adjust color tones by analyzing the scene before and during recording.
Just yesterday, Motorola announced a partnership with luxury audio equipment maker Bang & Olufsen and today we have the first result of it, with the Signature 27 being the first Motorola phone to feature Audio by B&O.
Style to spare
The Signature 27 looks premium. It’s made of aluminum and the camera housing is smooth ceramic and brushed aluminum.
It comes in two colors and textures. The Pantone Coal Smoke version is optimized for grip with a tactical weave. And the Pantone Capulet Green has a soft, brushed finish that Motorola said is “inspired by premium fashion and interior design.”
