The U.S. is a big country, and we don’t all experience the seasons in the same way, but for a lot of us, fall is definitely here. The weather is cooler, football is happening, new iPhones have arrived, and all of that means it’s almost time to move the clocks back to close out Daylight Saving Time 2026.
Since you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering exactly when that’s supposed to happen. After all, it can get confusing as to whether or not we’re even in DST at any given point in time, and the beginning and end of it always sneak up on us every year. Fret not, though, because we have an answer: DST ends this year on Nov. 1, with clocks moving back from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m. overnight.
Yes, that means you get an extra hour of sleep.

This, of course, does not apply to municipalities that don’t observe DST, such as Hawaii and most of Arizona. But for the rest of us, we’re going to have to manually adjust some of our clocks to reflect the change…after that extra long night of sleep, of course. It’s also worth noting that any device you own that’s connected to the internet, such as a smartphone or laptop, will most likely change its own time automatically.
But if you have an older car or you rely on the clock on your stove, make a note to move it back an hour on Nov. 1.
