Donald Trump was inaudible during a White House-livestreamed ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday — and it shouldn’t have been a surprise. No press pool? No audio.
The president recently revoked White House access for journalists from CNN, Politico, and MS NOW, with press, commentators, and the White House Correspondents’ Association declaring it a violation of the First Amendment, specifically the freedom of the press. All three media outlets have filed a lawsuit against Trump, demanding press access be restored. Now, several networks have boycotted coverage of White House events usually covered by the press pool.

During Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, the host reflected on Trump’s silent moment on the White House lawn.
“Apparently he forgot the press pool is also who brings the microphones. If you’re going to ban news organisations from the White House, you really need to learn how to project,” said Meyers.
