YouTube is announcing a ton of upgrades today, showcasing a wide range of new features and improvements coming to the platform. It’s hard to believe things can change so much, but the brand has introduced some of its most interesting changes at its Made on YouTube event for creators.
We’ve seen YouTube offer A/B testing before with thumbnails and titles. The feature allows creators to try three different titles and thumbnails on one video and see which one performs best. This is now expanding to video, which is quite exciting. If a creator has different ideas or cuts of a video, they will soon be able to test them to see the results.

Just like titles and thumbnails, users will be able to test three different video cuts to see how they perform. YouTube didn’t go into much detail on how this will work, but we can only imagine there will be quite a bit of work on the creator’s end. There’s also a chance creators can rely on AI in YouTube Studio to make new, fresh cuts.
YouTube Studio has a “new feedback feature” that “gives personalized advice on pacing, structure, storytelling, and more.” With these tools, creators could make and push out new cuts with ease. Naturally, we’ll hear more about this feature when it officially debuts. But this is going to be a pretty big deal for big-time creators looking to get the most out of their creations.
Finally….
YouTube also announced that it will finally let users customize their front page. While getting recommendations from the algorithm is fine, it hasn’t been all that accurate over the past few years. In fact, one wrong click and your whole front page could become a huge mess.
And even if you are meticulous about what you watch, the front page just isn’t as alluring as it used to be. To be honest, I haven’t really looked at YouTube much over the past couple of years because the front page is flooded with stuff I just don’t care about.
Watching the content I subscribe to is great, but I’d love to be able to discover new things that are really interesting. YouTube content has changed quite a bit, with most creators sticking to a formula to get the most engagement possible. It makes the content dry.
Furthermore, there’s also so much unrelated content when scrolling through. You just end up giving up on the platform and calling it a day. With this change, YouTube could bring back many viewers who stopped caring about the platform.
