8 on-sale Echo devices come with $30 in free Amazon credits — how to claim

Mashable’s shopping team is tracking all the best deals on Amazon ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, its “October Prime Day” sale — and I just noticed that certain Echo deals are even better than they appear.

Now through Oct. 7, eight on-sale Echo smart speakers and displays come with $30 in free Amazon credits that shoppers can put toward any future purchases. You do have to be a member of Amazon’s Prime program to take advantage of the offer, just FYI.

Just a note: This deal appears for some Mashable staffers, but others were not able to see the offer on their Prime accounts. So, check your eligibility.

Here’s a list of the eligible devices. Note that three are marked down to record-low prices:

To redeem this bonus credit offer, visit Amazon’s “Devices with Alexa+” landing page and click the “Apply Offer” button below the device of your choice. It’s limited to one device per person, so pick wisely. (Alexa+ is the AI assistant that’s built into all Echo devices. It’s free for all Prime members to use.) You’ll get an email from Amazon with instructions on how to redeem your credits once you complete your purchase.

This “deal on top of deals” is especially welcome in the wake of Amazon’s price increases. This summer, the retailer raised the prices of most of its Echo devices by up to $100 because of the ongoing memory crisis.

The regular Echo Dot, Echo Pop Kids, and Echo Hub aren’t included in this free credit offer, but the first two are already on sale for at least 50% off. As far as I can tell, the Echo Hub is the only Amazon device that’s still at full price ahead of Prime Big Deal Days.

That sale is Amazon’s annual fall Prime savings event, set for Oct. 6 to 7. It will kick off the holiday shopping season with “millions of deals across fashion, electronics, beauty, toys, and more,” the retailer said in a blog post.
