Building a home server. Now’s a great time to get started, as Amazon is offering $100 off one of UGREEN’s NAS (network-attached storage) boxes that you can use to create a home server.
With Amazon’s October Prime Day right around the corner, now’s the time to splurge on the foundation for your new build.
As of Sept. 30, get the UGREEN DXP4800 GT 4-Bay NAS for $559.99 at Amazon, down from its usual price of $659.99. That’s $100 off and a 15% discount.
Like a private Dropbox or Google Drive that lives in your home, you can fill a NAS with hard drives, plug in your router, and get long-term storage with full control of your data. This 4-bay option can support hard drives up to 32TB each, with two NVMe SSD slots for a maximum of 144TB. It utilizes an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 with 4 cores, 8 threads, and a 3.7GHz max boost with 8GB of upgradeable DDR4 RAM to power it all.

Beyond its hardware features, it uses Docker and VMs for any devices you connect, including Surveillance Center for live camera feeds, a photo app for sorting, storage, and other administrative options, and security tools that help manage permissions, encryption, and remote access.
If you’re ready to build your own NAS server, this is a great way to get started. You don’t even have to wait until Prime Day to save, which is always a bonus. You’ll be on your way to home storage in no time.
