GTA 6 Launch Trailer Confirms Console Date

October 16, 2026

Rockstar has released the official Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer, confirming the game’s November 19, 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. For players tracking the final stretch before launch, that console date is the clearest practical takeaway from the new footage, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.

What the launch trailer shows

The 90-second video introduces Jason and Lucia and lays out the trouble waiting for the pair in Vice City and across Leonida. Rockstar’s description says an attempted score goes wrong, drawing them into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state and leaves them depending on each other to survive.

Justice, the French electronic duo, provides original music for the trailer and composed the game’s original score, Rockstar says. The studio also confirmed that the new Justice single Flower in a Hurricane, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, will be included on Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album. The trailer’s music adds another concrete detail for players following the game’s soundtrack and radio features.

Rockstar says the trailer was captured entirely on PlayStation 5, but has not specified whether the footage came from the standard console or a PS5 Pro. That leaves the hardware detail limited to the platform named by the studio; the trailer does not establish which PS5 model is shown.

A major Rockstar single-player milestone

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be Rockstar’s first major new single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2, which launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018. The upcoming game is scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S; Rockstar’s announcement does not give a PC release date.

The confirmed date is on consoles

For now, the milestone players can plan around is November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The trailer offers a story and soundtrack preview, but the release platforms and date remain the key confirmed details for the launch.
