Sett joins 2XKO with Samira in Patch 1.3.3 on October 27, and the team behind him thinks his empowered Haymaker may be the best move on paper.
Riot said in the announcement on October 22 that Sett is 2XKO’s final champion and completes the roster, with the patch marking the game’s last major update before active development ends in December 2026.
Balance lead Dawn ‘Yohosie’ Hosie said Sett has likely the best on-paper move in the game, a 25-frame startup, full-screen Haymaker that wall slumps. “We’ve done a lot of work to balance that move that involved every single discipline,” she said. A full-screen normal with wall slump attached is the kind of tool fighting game players immediately stress-test.
A brawler who rewards fundamentals, not tech
Despite the scary frame data, the design goal reads approachable. Hosie said Sett is not a technical character: he has some technical links and combos for players who want them, but ultimately Sett is not that hard.
Sett’s ultimate powers up through three levels, with different slam animations between levels 1 and 3, a nod to his League of Legends ultimate The Showstopper. Designer Steve ‘UpToSnuff’ Bankert said that as the slam powers up, players will see each animation between levels 1 and 3.
One move that pushed the engine
The developers said Sett’s S2 Super, Facebreaker, pushed the limits of the game’s existing systems and created late engineering challenges.
Sett’s chromas dropped on October 23, with the rest of the roster’s skins shown over the following days. Patch 1.3.3 goes live October 27 with Samira and Sett, and a minor balance and bugfix patch is targeted for November 12.
