Are you planning to trek to the Mountain of Imprisonment in Phantom Blade Zero? This is another zone you should visit before you finish the campaign. Reaching the summit shouldn’t be a tall order if you already meet the requirements.
Mountain of Imprisonment location and parting mists
The Phantom Blade Zero Mountain of Imprisonment can be accessed via Meigu Lake, the large body of water that separates settlements like Pangzhen and the Village of Lu. The entrance is near an island dock in the northeastern part of the lake.
That said, it’s impassable by default since it’s shrouded in mist. However, once you repair the Illusory Pipa, you can play it at that location to make the fog disappear. This leads to a cutscene where Soul wakes up in a new region.
You can clear the mists once you have the Illusory Pipa.
Notable quests and NPCs in the Mountain of Imprisonment
What makes the Mountain of Imprisonment worth a visit is that certain quests that come from other regions can only be tackled here. If there’s a quest that made you scratch your head because you couldn’t track it initially or you couldn’t figure out the next step, then there’s a chance that the objective might be here.
For instance, there’s the Cui quest from the Village of Lu. You’ll find Cui’s grandfather trapped in a cage in this region. Speaking of caged characters, there’s also the Ailing Man, who’s part of the Don’t Forget Me quest from an NPC in Pangzhen.

Help out NPCs like Zhou Ping (left) and Lu Sanqian (right).
A certain mission also leads to even more quests. The Hero’s Lament/Moji’s Relic objective grants a powerful Phantom Blade. In turn, you’ll be able to talk to another NPC who provides their own quest, which then leads to a different task from their companion. Funnily enough, this arc is how you can finally acquire that darned Pangzhen Courtyard Key.

There’s more to discover once you reach the shrine at the summit.
The last piece of the puzzle, er, puppet
That about does it for our guide on how to reach the Mountain of Imprisonment in Phantom Blade Zero. As an aside, you should complete the main objective that takes you all the way to the summit and shrine in the northwest.
The boss therein rewards you with another Phantom Edge, one that helps with exploration. We don’t really want to spoil all the details, but the next steps in the summit also lead you back to the Crimson Manor in Weeping Creek Valley.
